
On the occasion of the 98th Anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in Turkey, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania is extending warm greetings to all its Turkish partners and friends. To commemorate the Turkish National Sovereignty and Children’s day, the Ambassador of Lithuania Audrius Brūzga and Embassy Staff members paid a visit to Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and the first President of the Republic of Turkey.

On April 14th, the opening of the tulip composition depicting the historical Columns of Gediminas took place at Emirgan Park, Istanbul. The tulip composition of the Columns of Gediminas is a part of the famous Istanbul Tulip Festival.

On February 16th, on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Restoration of the State of Lithuania the Embassy of Lithuania in Turkey hosted a reception in Ankara. Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mr Nihat Zeybekci, as well as members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, state officials, representatives of science, culture and business, foreign diplomats, international and Lithuanian communities took part in the event.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Lithuania, Honorary Consul Mustafa Ozsoy opened in Izmir an exhibition „Paper Transformed Into Art“.

The Lithuanian Embassy in Turkey organized 2 events on Lithuanian literature. Dr. Rimvydas Tamošaitis, Docent of Vilnius University Literature Department, presented a lecture Lithuania in Literature and History at Istanbul University on the 15th of November and a lecture Lithuanian literature –Archaic Memory and Modern Aspirations on the 16th of November at Ankara University.

On the 23rd of September, exhibition of Kaunas’ interwar architecture, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, Chamber of Architects of Turkey and Architects’ Association 1927, was opened at the 4th Antalya International Architecture Biennal.
