AMBASSADOR D.PRANCKEVICIUS PAID A VISIT TO ANTALYA
On March 20, Ambassador Darius Pranckevicius paid a visit to Governor of Antalya region Mr. Alaaddin Yüksel, Mayor of Antalya Mr. Menderes Türel and President of Chamber and Commerce Mr. Kemal Özgen.
During the meetings, economical and cultural cooperation and exchange of youth was discussed.Antalya region is one of the most popular tourism destinations for Lithuanians for summer vacations. In 2007 more than 50.000 Lithuanian tourists visited Antalya, Alanya, Kemer and other resorts of Mediterranean. During the meeting Ambassador was interested in preparations for tourist season, main challenges and possible obstacles for tourists from Lithuania.
D. Pranckevicius noted that many Lithuanian citizens have real estates in Antalya region.
“Simplifying bureaucratic procedures while purchasing realty and visa free regime for Lithuanian citizens would make Antalya region even more attractive for the citizens of Lithuania “- pointed D. Pranckevičius.
There is an Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Antalya, under the leadership of Mrs. Mine Okudur.
