Amber Way: From the Bosphorus to the Baltics
On June 6 in Istanbul winners of the student drawing competition “Amber Way: From the Bosphorus to the Baltics” were announced. The First Prize winners in all three age group categories will travel this summer to Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn.
The Embassies of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in Turkey in cooperation with the PERA Festivals of Istanbul have organized a drawing competition in Turkish schools to commemorate Centenary of Independence of the Baltic countries. 500 schoolchildren from across Turkey participated in the competition. Ambassador Audrius Bruzga of Lithuania said this at the Awards ceremony in Istanbul Pera Arts Lyceum: “I am happy and proud that on the occasion of the Centenary of Restored Independence of the Republic of Lithuania students in Turkey were drawing my country and my neighboring countries Latvia and Estonia the way they imagined them to be and the way they wished the friendship among our nations developed. The result is outstanding: such beautiful colors and such warm feelings towards Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia”.
In the Senior students category, the First Prize and a three-day trip to Vilnius was awarded to Alp Tekin Kaya, a student from Isparta. In the company of his parents and the art teacher he will visit Lithuania at the end of July 2018.
