CO-OPERATION IN TRANSPORT SECTOR HAS BEEN DISCUSSED

The Ambassador of Lithuania Darius Pranckevicius paid a visit to Binali Yildirim, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Turkey on October 17 to discuss the cooperation between two countries in transport sector.
Turkish Minister of Transport B. Yildirim recalled his visit to Lithuania this March. He noted that his visit had been very useful. The possibility for Turkey to join “Vikingas” project was explored. Combined transport train “Vikingas” shuttles between Black Sea Ilyichevsk port and Baltic Sea Klaipeda port.The Ambassador D. Pranckevicius stressed that Lithuania is seeking to strengthen the relations with Turkey and considers participation of Turkey in “Viking” project as a priority.
“It is necessary to continue the dialog and to develop projects which are to be discussed in detail during upcoming visit of Lithuanian Minister of Transport Algirdas Butkevicius to Turkey” – resumed D. Pranckevicius.
