EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA HOSTED PARTICIPANTS OF AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM FROM LITHUANIAN AND TURKISH SCHOOLS
Diplomats of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania on the 19th of March met with the group of students from Didžiadvaris gymnasium of the city of Šiauliai and from Mustafa Kemal liceum of the city of Ankara.
16 pupil from each school are participating in the prpject „TuLiP“ (Turkish Lithuanian Partnership) under the European Union Socrates program. As a part of the project children compile a vocabulary of lithuanian and turkish languages.
R.Šlepavičius welcomed students from Lithuania and Turkey and wished luck exercising a project.
„Suchlike exchange programs are the best way to get to know and to ally with nations of variant culture and religion“ noticed charge d‘affaires.
The head teacher of the gymnasium of Didžiadvaris noted that this visit of Lithuanian students to Turkey is only the first part of the project. In few weeks Turkish students will come to Šiauliai.
