Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Türkiye announces selection for the post of secretary
Applicants, who meet the requirements for the post and who wish to be considered for the selection procedure, must submit a curriculum vitae, evidence of required education degree and a motivation letter by September 9, 2024 (inclusively) to [email protected]. The selection will be conducted in the form of an interview. Interviews with eligible candidates will take place between September 12 and 16, 2024. The candidates will be interviewed at the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Türkiye or by video teleconferencing. Base salary coefficient - from 0.52.
Requirements:
The holder of the position shall meet the following requirements:
- higher education of college type or higher education of university type or similar education;
- English and Turkish language skills at no lower than B2 level;
- computer skills (MS Office software package);
- knowledge of rules of clerical work, document management and record-keeping, drafting of legal acts and language culture;
- ability to plan, organise own activities, analytically assess and systemise information;
- fluent written and oral communication;
- leaving no doubt as to the person’s credibility.
Functions:
The holder of the position shall perform the following functions:
- assist the Head of Mission or the assigned staff member;
- answer and administer phone calls;
- provide general information to interested parties, prepare answers to enquiries within own remit;
- within own remit, correspond with diplomatic missions and other institutions, bodies and organisations of foreign countries;
- register incoming and outgoing correspondence, make copies and send documents, handle protocol correspondence and perform other document management functions;
- within own remit, draw up letters, cover letters, notes, other documents, or their drafts;
- create files of the Mission, draw up a documentation plan and manage the archives;
- follow media reports, distribute the Mission’s press releases;
- disseminate information provided by institutions, bodies and companies of the Republic of Lithuania;
- update and publish information on the Mission’s website and social media accounts;
- make translations;
- compile and regularly update the list of contact persons of the Mission;
- assist with the sending and receiving of diplomatic mail and diplomatic cargoes;
- contribute to the organisation and servicing of meetings, events, receptions and visits;
- perform other occasional official tasks assigned by the Head of the Mission.
Knowledge of Lithuanian language would be regarded as an advantage.

The successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract.
