FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS TRAVELING TO LITHUANIA
On 16th June official quarantine in Lithuania was terminated. However, temporary restriction of non-essential travel to the EU countries remains effective for most of third countries except those listed in the EU Council’s decision: Foreign and non-EU nationals who are exempted from the temporary travel restrictions to Lithuania: -Family members of the EU citizens covered by Directive EC/2004/38; -Healthcare professionals, health researchers, and elderly care professionals; -Frontier workers; -Transport personnel engaged in haulage of goods and other transport staff to the extent necessary; -Diplomats, staff of international organisations, military personnel and humanitarian aid workers in the exercise of their functions; -Passengers travelling for imperative family reasons; -Persons in need of international protection or for other humanitarian reasons.
Following Turkish citizens and residents in Turkey are eligible to submit the Schengen (C) visa applications to the VFS Global visa centers in Turkey.
Foreign nationals are eligible to submit the National (D) visa applications to the VFS Global visa centers in Turkey if there is no Embassy of Lithuania or VFS Global Lithuania visa center in their country of origins.
Due to the coronavirus, the possibilities to apply for a visa at the VFS Global visa centers are limited. Check if you able to book an appointment at the VFS Global visa center via online appointment system or by phone.
There are no direct flights from Turkey to Lithuania at the moment, however transit flights are available with Turkish Airlines, Anadolu Jet or SunExpress to major airports of other Schengen member states (e.g. Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Denmark), which has direct or connecting flights to Lithuania (Vilnius, Kaunas) and other Baltic states.
As of 17th July all foreign nationals arriving from third countries outside the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, will be required to stay in mandatory isolation for 2 weeks.
Foreigners will be required to register with the National Public Health Center under the Ministry of Health within 24 hours of arrival. Further information: https://nvsc.lrv.lt/en/
Foreigners arriving from countries included in the list of countries affected by the coronavirus, which is published weekly, are required, within 24 hours, to contact the Hotline 1808 or any testing body in order to be tested for the coronavirus.
If foreigners arrive in Lithuania for work or have a separate permission by the Minister of the relevant field, and their arrival is approved by the Government, and if those persons are required to stay in isolation, the employer, the inviting person or foreigners themselves must pay for the isolation premises as well as transportation to the isolation premises and to the place of taking a swab for the coronavirus infection.
