LITHUANIA AND KARS REGION:PERSPEKTIVES FOR COOPERATION
On the 28th of September Lithuanian ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, Darius Pranckevičius, visited Kars, a city bordering Armenia in northeast Turkey.
Ambassador D. Pranckevičius paid a visit to the Governor of Kars Province, Mayor of Kars, President of Chamber and Commerce and Rector of Caucasus University in Kars. Economic and social development of the region as well as possibilities for cooperation with Lithuanian local municipalities, business, science and culture were discussed.
Lithuanian Ambassador congratulated the efforts of, Mr. Naif Alibeyoglu, Mayor of Kars, to strengthen the relations with all countries of South Caucasus.
“Lithuanian experience in creation good neighbourhood and interregional cooperation development could be of interest for Kars province“ - emphasized D. Pranckevičius.
