Lithuanian ambassador discussed fight against terrorism with Minister Çavuşoğlu

On August 13th Ambassador Audrius Bruzga met with H.E. Mr Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey to discuss bilateral relations, the fight against terrorism and the situation of the Crimean Tatars under occupation.

Ambassador Brūzga reiterated Lithuania‘s support to Turkey in the fight against terrorism as terrorism has become the most serious security concern in the region and beyond. Preventing migration of foreign fighters was seen in Vilnius as a prerequisite for a succesful campaign against organized terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq. Minister Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey was ready to work together with the US and other states in the region to confront the Islamic State (or DAESH) in a most decisive way. The aim is to eradicate the Islamic State from Syria.
