LITHUANIAN - TURKISH TRADE CONSULTATIONS
Lithuanian – Turkish Trade Consultations took place in Lithuania on April 8-9.
On April 8, Turkish delegation headed by U. Guzel, the Secretary of the Turkish Foreign Trade Ministry had meetings with D. Matulionis, State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, V. Nauduzas, Viceminister of Economics, R. Gradauskas, Secretary of the Ministry of Transport.During the meetings parties had exchanged the information on economical development of the countries, investment promotion, cooperation in energy, transport, tourism sectors.
The major attention was given to the Turkeys accession to the combined transport train “Vikingas”. According to D. Matulionis “Using “Vikingas” facilities businessmen from Turkey and the region will be able easily to reach Northern Germany, Scandinavian and other Baltic States markets”.
The same day Lithuanian - Turkish business forum was organized at the Ministry of Economy. Businessmen from both countries had a possibility to start direct business relations. Forum was organized by the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC Lietuva.
On the second day delegation visited Klaipeda, where guests were invited to Klaipeda free economic zone, the Direction of Klaipeda Sea Port and several meetings with businessmen of the region.
