Marmara Urban Forum
The second Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), organized by Marmara Municipalities Union, was held online on 1-3 October 2021 on the theme of "Cities Developing Solutions: Re-Think, Co-Act" by recognizing the necessity of reconsidering established urban policies and planning processes in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 2nd of October, during the seminar, the project "EU - for Energy Change: Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Turkey" implemented by the Central Project Management Agency in 2021-2025 was presented to help the region properly implement its energy and climate change mitigation goals.
The seminar was attended by Mindaugas Sinkevičius, President of the Association of Lithuanian Municipalities, and representatives of the Turkish municipalities. Lidija Kašubienė, Director of the Central Project Management Agency, and Daiva Matonienė, a long-term expert on the project, were pleased to see that the project would contribute to the sustainable energy transition in Turkey. Vaida Stankevičienė, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Turkey, after welcoming the initiatives between Lithuania and Turkey, wished success in implementing the project.
