MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY VISITED LITHUANIA
Minister of Transportation and Communication of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim visited Lithuania on the 7th and 8th of March
On the 7th of March guest was welcomed by the chairman of Seimas Viktoras Muntianas, on the 8th Minister of Transportation and Communication of the Republic of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevičius with his Turkish colleague discussed necessity to create more favourable conditions for the carriage of cargoes in the between the Baltic and the Black Sea regions by employing the potential of the container intermodal train “Viking”.
“The main purpose of my visit to your country is the container train “Viking”,” claimed Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Communications Binali Yildirim. “I believe there are considerable opportunities for our countries to develop this project, though customs clearing and border crossing procedures should be simplified.” According to Mr. Yildirim, it is of importance to Turkey to maintain good transport relations with the European Union, including Lithuania, - says the press release of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.
