Regional Meeting of Lithuanian Ambassadors in Ankara

On 10th – 12th of  October regional meeting of Lithuanian Ambassadors took place in Ankara.  

During the meetıng, the geopolitical situation in the Black Sea region, foreign policy developments, Lithuanian interests and opportunities for cooperation in the region were discussed. Considerable attention was paid to Turkey's foreign policy, interests and influence in the region, relations with the European Union, Ukraine and Russia, as well as ensuring security and peace in Turkey's neighborhood.


The Lithuanian delegation, led by Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr Neris Germanas, met with Turkish Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr Faruk Kaymakçı, who presented Turkey's views on the situation in Syria, cooperation with other countries in the Black Sea region, Turkey-EU relations. The Lithuanian and Turkish Vice-Ministers of Foreign Affairs also discussed bilateral relations and cooperation.


Meetings were also held with the General Director of the Bilateral Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Mr Yönet Can Tezel,  Turkish state and public organizations, focusing on regional economic cooperation, ethnic minorities and Crimean Tatars.
