Results of the call of applications for implementation of the development cooperation projects in the Republic of Turkiye under the concept #2

On 25 March 2024 the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Türkiye launched a call for development cooperation project proposals for the implementation of the MFA Development Cooperation and Democracy Support Programme in the Republic of Türkiye in 2024 under 2 concepts - on the promotion of cooperation between the Lithuanian and the Turkish municipal level on the issues of the environment, renewable energy, climate change and the restoration of the green spaces in Türkiye, intending to allocate up to €12 500 for each project.

The Commission has examined the applications submitted under the concept of promoting cooperation at municipal level between Lithuania and Türkiye on the environment, renewable energy, and climate change. The following applications were received by the deadline for submission of applications on 22 April:

  •         Sharing the theoretical and technical knowledge of firefighters in the fields of incident response and incident management in some disasters caused by climate change. Project implementer – Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality
  •         Joint Municipal Solutions Against Climate Change. Project implementer – Municipalities of Melikgazi, Trakai and Druskininkai.
  •         Collaborative Türkiye-Lithuania Missions as a Learning and Networking Tool to Address Climate Change Challenges (TLM-3C). Project implementer – KENT-LAB (Urban Strategies and Local Practices Association).

The evaluation of the applications showed that the applications submitted did not have any administrative deficiencies. The concept of the project “Sharing the theoretical and technical knowledge of firefighters in the fields of incident response and incident management in some disasters caused by climate change” scored 31.5 points in the evaluation; the concept of the project “Joint Municipal Solutions Against Climate Change” scored 75.94 points. The concept of the project “Collaborative Türkiye-Lithuania Missions as a Learning and Networking Tool to Address Climate Change Challenges (TLM-3C)” scored 88 points.

 The Development Cooperation Commission of the Embassy decided to declare the concept of the project “Collaborative Türkiye-Lithuania Missions as a Learning and Networking Tool to Address Climate Change Challenges (TLM-3C)” (Project implementer – KENT-LAB) as the winner and to award the project €12 450 and to inform the participants of the application process accordingly.
