STAGE DIRECTOR E. NEKROSIUS WAS AWARDED BY ISTANBUL CULTURE AND ART FOUNDATION

On May 25 In Istanbul international theatre festival “Meno fortas“ performed a play “Faustas “ conducted by Eimuntas Nekrošius.
The play was shown in one of the major scenes in Istanbul. 1200 people were able to see the performance.The chairman of Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation Sakir Eczacıbaşı presented a special award to stage director E. Nekrošius. The Minister of Culture of Lithuania J. Jucas had also participated in the ceremony.
The cooperation between “Meno fortas“ and Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation was initiated by the Lithuanian Embassy in Ankara and started more than two years ago. In 2006 „Otelas“ was performed for the spectators in Istanbul.
International theatre festival in Istanbul is being organized every two years.
