In the beginning of June in Turkey took place the 5th International Turkish Language Olympics, holding over 700 participants from 100 countries. Children performed knowledge of Turkish language and culture in four groups: declamation, dance, singing and language.
Lithuania in this contest was represented by 12 years old Žygimantas Kapočius from Vilnius Antanas Vienuolis elementary school and 18 years old Raselė Pultarackaitė from Vilnius Vytautas Magnus gymnasium. Žygimantas declaimed poem in Turkish and was among the top ten participants, Raselė performed a Turkish song. Children while preparing for the Olympics were assisted by the teacher Jurgita Dzidzevičienė.
Participants of the Olympics visited Lithuanian Embassy in Turkey. Diplomats wished all the good luck for Žygimantas and Raselė, thanked the organizers and the teachers. Events like this depolarize different nations and cultures so that Embassy always encourages youth exchange in between Lithuania and Turkey.
