TRANSPORT PROJECT „VIKING“ PRESENTED IN SAMSUN

    On January 23 Ambassador Darius Pranckevicius and Minister Counselor Jolanda Kriskovieciene visited Samsun where they presented the facility of combined transport train “Vikingas”. Diplomats paid visits to the deputy Governor of Samsun M. Mizrak, the mayor Y.Z. Yilmaz, Chaiman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry A. Sakoglu and Samsun Sea Port director T. Demir. The Ambassador presented possibilities for economical cooperation and trade between Lithuania and Turkey, as well as an opportunity for Samsun Port to use a facility of combined transport train “Vikingas”. It was pointed out that Samsun geographical location is very well suitable for this project: many land roads, railroads lead to the city and marine routs continue to Russia, Ukraine, Georgia. There are few industry zones in Samsun, where around 80 enterprises of steal, furniture, food, textile production concentrate. Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry annually organizes  trade missions to various countries, so in the nearest future they will consider to visit Lithuania as
