Vacancy Announcement: Assistant of the Consular Officer
Job title: Assistant of the Consular Officer of the Republic of Lithuania Place: Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Turkey, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to Islamic Republic of Iran Mahatma Gandi Cad. No: 38, G.O.P. Ankara Duration of contract: 1 year; basic salary coefficient is assigned from 5.89.
Requirements and qualifications:
Education: Bachelor‘s or other undergraduate university degree from a recognized university.
Language: fluency in oral and written Turkish and English (minimum B2 level).
A candidate must know how to work with MS Office and be ready to be trained to work with computer programs, used at the Embassy.
He or she must know the basics of work with official correspondence, filing of the documents and managing consular fees.
A candidate should be able to work in a small team, be responsible, show strong ethics and exercise discretion, be able to put his or her thoughts down on paper smoothly or communicate efficiently.
Assistant of the Consular Officer should be familiar with legal acts and international legislation in the area of consular work. and the person reliability/
A candidate need to have legal residence in Turkey.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assisting to the Consular Officer, including consular functions and managing visa applications, following the provisions of Articles 14 ؘ– 42 of the Consular Statute;
- Providing general consular information for persons concerned, answering incoming telephone calls and e-mail messages, managing telephone calls;
- Preparing written information material, letters or answers to requests on consular activities as requested by the Consular Officer;
- Receiving visa applicants and checking theirs documents;
- Communicating with Turkish and other institutions, visa application centers regarding consular issues;
- Providing written translation of consular documentation;
- Archiving consular documentation, preparing plan of consular correspondence, preparing consular documents for diplomatic post or diplomatic cargo and managing the received ones;
- Assisting Embassy Staff in organizing the Embassy’s events and functions;
- Performing other related duties and assisting in other aspects of the the Embassy’s work, as required.
Relevant previous professional experience and recommendation letters from previous employer would be an asset.
