Vacancy Announcement: Driver and Maintenance manager

Job Title: Driver and Maintenance Manager Place: Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Turkey, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and to Islamic Republic of Iran Mahatma Gandi Cad. No: 38, G.O.P. Ankara Duration of contract: 1 year; basic salary coefficient is assigned from 5.89.

Requirements and qualifications:

Education: Secondary education   

Language: fluent in Turkish, good command of English.

A candidate must have a valid driver’s license, category B, ensuring the right to drive the Embassy’s cars and must know the driving  ettiquete.

He or she must have work experience in car maintenance, know the main legal acts on traffic safety and transport safety rules, know how to provide first aid.

He or she will  be obligated to learn the rules of usage and maintenance of the Embassy’s vehicle fleet, have experience in planning short and long distance routes, be able to work independently and in a team.

A candidate needs to have legal residence in Turkey.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing chauffeur services to the Ambassador and Embassy staff, the Embassy’s official guests or delegations;
  • Providing courier services with regard to official correspondence;
  • Overseeing maintenance, regular check-ups, service and repair of the Embassy’s cars;
  • Cleaning and keeping the Embassy’s cars in good condition;
  • Taking responsibility over customs clearance, timely renewal of relevant permits; car registration, licensing, insurance documents.
  • Filling documentation related to the usage of Embassy’s cars and driving services, keeping records on fuel consumption and other materials for cars and distance records timely;
  • Assisting Embassy staff in organizing the Embassy’s events and functions;
  • Helping out with the maintenance of the Embassy building and adjacent territory;
  • Carrying out limited routine house maintenance work;
  • Performing other related duties and assisting in other aspects of the the Embassy work, as required.

Relevant previous professional experience and recommendation letters from previous employer would be an asset.
